Home health check · Green Bay

Catch the small stuff before it gets expensive.

The most expensive home repairs almost always start as small, ignorable problems — a bit of loose roof flashing, a slow drip, a grade that sends water toward the foundation. A home health check is a licensed general contractor walking your whole home to find those things while they're still cheap, then handing you a plain-English plan for what to fix now, what to watch, and what to budget for. One form, one call back.

Home health check details

What this covers.

Not a home inspection — a homeowner's game plan

A pre-purchase inspection is a snapshot for a transaction. A home health check is for the person living there: the same trained eyes on the roof, mechanicals, and foundation, but the output is a maintenance game plan — what to handle this year, what can wait, and what to start saving for — not a pass/fail report for a lender.

Deferred maintenance, caught early

Deferred maintenance is the quiet way homes get expensive, and water is almost always the culprit — a gutter that overflows, a grade that slopes the wrong way, a small roof leak. We find where water is going and stop the chain reaction before it reaches your framing, your foundation, or your finished basement.

  • Water intrusion & drainage
  • Roof & flashing
  • Aging mechanicals
  • Small leaks & seals

A plan, then the pros

You get a clear, prioritized list — and if you want the work done, we coordinate the same vetted, insured pros to handle it in priority order, with a documented scope and price. No pressure and no upsell: plenty of homeowners just take the plan and DIY the easy stuff.

Who you'll be working with

Your home health check is walked by Jeff — a licensed general contractor (and a licensed real-estate agent with Symes Realty) — the same trained eye that knows which small problems quietly turn into the expensive ones.

Common questions

Home health check questions, answered.

Straight answers — and if yours isn't here, just ask.

How is this different from a home inspection?
A home inspection is built for a real-estate transaction — a buyer or lender wants a snapshot of condition at the moment of sale. A home health check is for the person who owns and lives in the home: the same careful look at roof, mechanicals, plumbing, and foundation, but the goal is an ongoing maintenance plan — fix now, watch, or budget for — rather than a report to close a deal.
When should I get one?
Great times are right after you buy, when you've let maintenance slide and want to reset, or once a year as a checkup on an older home. If you're constantly getting blindsided by repairs, that's the clearest sign it's worth doing.
